Last 1 March 2016, 14 foreign chambers (two of which where I was member of: CCIFM (the Malaysian French Chamber) and the MGCC (Malaysian German Chamber of Commerce) in Malaysia gathered at the elite Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club for the Sime Darby Property Networking Evening and an exclusive viewing of the the 2016 edition BMW Malaysian Open. This would be the second time I attended the prestigious event, the previous edition was hosted at the Royal Selangor Golf Club the previous year where Danish Caroline Wozniaki took the title.
The evening began with cocktails and canapes at the International Collection Gallery hosted by Sime Darby, after which everyone then adjourned to the VIP Skybox to proceed with dinner filled with fantastic food and free flowing wine and beer to complement the ferocious play between Roberta Vinci of Italy and Kai-Chen Chang of Taiwan and the networking buzz among the foreign business leaders in the country in attendance.
In Singles Final, Elina Svitolina (UKR) beat Eugenie Bouchard (CAN) to win the Singles Championship of the BMW Malaysian Open this year after several match suspensions due to sudden downpours which stretched the match past midnight.
The business chambers present were Amcham, BMCC, CCIFM, EUMCCI, La Camara, MABC, MASBA, MBLBC, MCBC, MDaBC, MDuBC, MGCC, MIBN, MNZCC.
